JenniferVasquezHi folks! My name is Jennifer, I grew up in West Los Angeles in a small city known as the "Palms Neighborhood". I am a first-generation college student, now a fifth-year senior at the University of California, Berkeley. I am majoring in Sociology and minoring in Education. I aspire to be a college adviser and possibly a mathematics educator in hopes of helping bridge the inequality gap between low-income and affluent communities. I am a huge advocate for mentor-ship because it is very much needed within our low-income communities. It allows us to have access to resources that we otherwise wouldn't be able to attain. Outside of academics, I am the director of Inside the Living Room, a student organization on campus that helps the immigrant community at the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant (EBSC) and I work as a program assistant at Destination College Advising Corps (DCAC). I enjoy going hiking, playing soccer, running, reading, blogging, napping, watching Netflix and taking photographs.
